This piece was inspired by a mentor of mine who expressed that he believes bright color on weather bleached bone are a compliment to the animal's spirit. I give full circle gratitude to this strong & gentle creature— from its nativity on my fathers grassroots Colorado ranch, to its gift of sustenance through meat, to the slow weathering of its flesh turned back into the earth, cleaned by insects & microbes. Art is process, as is life.
